Pear Supreme

Brunch today was a wonderfully-creamy and decadent affair, fun, fresh-tasting flavors, frivolity and flair(even if I do say so myself : =) This simple and yet tasty, naturally-healthy treat will leave you feeling euphoric, energetic and light as a kite (Your taste buds will love you for it for sure), ENJOY!

Pear Supremo: locally-sourced & organically-grown conference pears(I used 3), giant bunch of flat-leaf parsley(all of parsley including edible stems for obvious reasons), juice of 2 limes, perfectly-ripe Hass avocado or two and that's it!

As January is a month renowned for cleansing(prevention is better than cure) may I suggest a stainless steel tongue cleaner(endorsed by generations of wise sages and Indian Yogis:), very cheap(tip: try Ebay) and effective for getting rid of  undesirable bacteria from last night's slumbers(enough said there:). You might want to try oil pulling  with some cold pressed sesame oil or pure virgin coconut too(caution: this ancient practice can naturally and significally whiten teeth for sure.

Have a awesome weekend folks(ciao bella:)!

Berry Good Start!

My day began with a vividly-vibrant, home-made concoction, creamy shake of germinated almonds, frozen strawberries, frozen ripe bananas, soaked raw Peruvian organic cacao beans, water ant the Amazonian wonder fruit, Acai (Green Origin's freeze dried powder:). It's my second attempted tasting of Acai powder and fortunately for me I have just acquired a taste for it(love it now:) as I found it quite unpalatable before. Mind you I could say the same for rooibos tea and I can't get enough of that!

Here's  what the blurb on the label says:

'Acai is a small purple berry from the Brazilian Amazon which is widely regarded as one of the most nutritious food on Earth; a rich source of antioxidants, healthy omega fats, amino acids and dietary fibre. Not only does it boost energy levels and the immune system but it helps promote healthy skin.

Green origins exclusively use Sambazon  organic freeze-dried acai berry powder, which unlike extracts or concentrates, completely captures the unique synergy of health benefits found in this miraculous fruit. Sambazo is the premier global suppier o f organic acai berry powder and your purchase of this product helps Sambazon's efforts to protect the indigenous people of the Amazon and the Amazon Rainforest'. That's nice to know and makes a change from the ubiquitous soy crop that's destroying eco systems to feed cattle.

Brace yourselfs Britons the torrential rain is heading our way(so they say)

Now Britain faces threat of flooding as forecasters predict torrential rain for vast swathes of the country

Freak world weather patterns may impact here

Britain is expected to suffer from flooding as heavy rain is forecast across vast swathes of the country.

As huge parts of the southern hemisphere clean up after torrential downpours the UK is set for its own mini-monsoon.

Large parts of the country look set to be hit by six inches of rain tonight with gale force winds hitting many parts of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Cockermouth was one of the Cumbrian towns deluged by floods in 2009 - now forecasters warn the same may happen again

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings and Cumbria - hit 19 months ago by devastating floods - is again expected to face the brunt of the storms.

Extreme weather has been experienced across the world with the La NiƱa phenomenon causing floods in Australia, Brazil and Sri Lanka.

Only a couple of weeks ago the UK was experiencing record breaking cold weather conditions but now weathermen are saying that we should expect 'abnormally mild' temperatures rising to 14C in some places.

However, with the warm temperatures come wetter conditions, forecaster Barry Grommet warned.

'The air we are getting at the moment is coming from the subtropical part of the Atlantic. Not only is it mild and warm, it has got a lot of moisture in it.

'Wherever you are overt the next two or three days you are going to see heavy rain,' he told the Daily Telegraph.

Lindsay Dover, a forecaster at MeteoGroup, said: 'There's rain coming from the west tomorrow and that's going to spread slowly east, across most of the country.

'It's going to be very windy as well and there'll be gusts of around 60mph in north west Scotland. Elsewhere we are looking at gusts of about 40mph.

Hopefully the rain won't be as bad as it has been in Australia. Former prime minister, Kevin Rudd, is seen with other volunteers taking part in the cleaning process in Brisbane

'It will be very, very mild for January, reaching up to 14C in some places. Slowly temperatures will start dropping on Monday but it will still be mild.'

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: 'With further rain forecast by the Met Office over the weekend, and the ground approaching saturation point, further flood alerts and flood warnings are likely to be issued.

'These may remain in place over the weekend and into next week.

'The heavy rainfall expected in Cumbria may result in some flooding of roads and some properties, although severe flooding, such as that seen in November 2009, is not anticipated.'

Wednesday

Delusion: an erroneous or invalid belief or opinion. The initial intellectual error from which all other delusions and their consequences result is presuming the true Self (the soul) to be mind or matter.

January 12th The Meaning of Life

The devotee should understand that the purpose of God in creating the world and Delusion is to develop perfect beings. This pastime is God's hobby! To encourage perfection, the Lord gave men free will — and a challenge! He subjected them to the inner wholesome temptations of His goodness and to the outer unwholesome temptations of Nature. Human life is a vast complicated puzzle that each man must solve to the last. When man skilfully uses his divine gift of free choice and discrimination to respond to the temptations of virtue and not of evil, he attains the necessary victory. He is 'out' in the game of life; he returns to his blessed Home with heavy winnings! This then, is the truth about the mystery of human life on earth. This is the reason why man should not yield (as many psychologists wrongly advise) to the 'natural' impulses, but should be guided by spiritual inclinations that are truly natural to his being, the soul.

Worth remembering!

You were born with an innate knowledge that you do create your own reality. And, in fact, that knowledge is so basic within you that when someone attempts to thwart your own creation, you feel an immediate discord within yourself. Within you, today, lives the knowledge that you are the creator of your own life experience; that absolute freedom exists as the basis of your true experience; and that, ultimately, the creation of your life experience is absolutely and only up to you.

Happy New Year!

January 3rd The New Year

Choose which habits you are going to destroy in the New Year. Make up your mind about them and stick to your decision. Resolve to give more time to God: to meditate regularly every day, and on one night each week to meditate several hours, so that you can feel your spiritual progress in God. Resolve that you are going to practice Kriya Yoga regularly and that you are going to control your appetites and emotions. Be a master!
